Prop 13 and Property Tax Savings

On June 6th, 1978, nearly two-thirds of California’s voters passed Proposition 13, reducing property taxes by about 57%.

The State of California allows low-income seniors, the blind and the disabled to defer payment of their property taxes in exchange for the state taking out a lien on the property. Apply here, or they can be requested by phone at (800) 952-5661.
