RELEASE: Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris Honored as a Champion of Innovation by TechNet

SACRAMENTO – TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of innovation economy CEOs and senior executives, honored Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris (D-Laguna Beach) as a 2021 Champion of Innovation for her leadership in advocating for policies that advance innovation, create jobs and fuel economic growth.  

TechNet released the following statement:

"Assemblymember Petrie-Norris has been a leader in the California State Assembly for her work on improving the business climate in the state," said Cameron Demetre, Executive Director for California and the Southwest at TechNet. “This past year, Assemblymember Petrie-Norris carried important legislation which would have eliminated the reductions in the research and development tax credits which are so vital in creating the jobs of tomorrow in California. She will continue the important fight of ensuring California continues to lead the world in innovation."

TechNet also awarded the following elected officials: Assemblymember Cecilia Aguiar-Curry (D-CA), Senator Jeff Brandes (R-FL), Senator Eric Lesser (D-MA), Speaker Scott Saiki (D-HI), Representative Amy Walen (D-WA) and Representative Keith Wheeler (R-IL).
