RELEASE: Assemblywoman Petrie-Norris Honors Veterans of the Year

Third Annual Veterans Day Celebration

NEWPORT BEACH In honor of Veterans Day, Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris honored six outstanding Veterans of the Year at an annual celebration at the American Legion Newport Harbor Post 291. The honorees were nominated by fellow community members in recognition of their service in the armed forces and in our communities.  

“It was truly an honor to recognize each of these incredible men and women who have sacrificed so much in the service of our nation,” said Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris (D-Laguna Beach). “These American heroes remind us that the ties that bind us together are so much stronger than the forces that seek to tear us apart.”

On November 3, 2021, Assemblywoman Petrie-Norris was joined by local and county elected officials to present resolutions in recognition of the following veterans:

  • Honorary Captain Eddy Hoffman, US Army – City of Laguna Woods
  • Petty Officer Third Class Hannah Uribe, US Navy – City of Irvine
  • Senior Chief Petty Officer Gary Tegel, US Navy – City of Costa Mesa
  • Petty Officer First Class Cory Virgil, US Navy – City of Huntington Beach
  • Specialist Kimberly Millet, US Army – City of Newport Beach
  • Sergeant Chris Kreymann, US Army – City of Laguna Beach
