09.16.21 Popular beach pathway in Huntington Beach to get $3.7 million makeover

The popular beach pathway running alongside Huntington Beach’s coast is getting a $3.7 million makeover.

City leaders are celebrating the start of the first phase of the Bluff Top Park improvement project, which will make upgrades from 9th Street to Seapoint Street, including on a cliff that overlooks the popular dog beach.

Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris helped appropriate $1.7 million in state funding toward the improvements, which “will preserve an important coastal amenity in the State of California,” a city announcement said. The remaining funds are coming from the city’s Park Development Impact Fund.
