Join AARP California, the California Department of Financial Protection & Innovation, and guest speakers throughout the month of August for Scam Chat Wednesdays - weekly virtual presentations that cover the latest scams and offer guidance on keeping your personal and financial information secure and protected.
The second presentation in the Scam Chat Wednesday series will focus on cryptocurrency-related imposter scams and how they work. Discussion includes:
- How to spot different kinds of imposter scams such as business or government
- Why scammers want you to use crypto currencies
- How “pig butchering” scams work
- What to do if you’re a victim of a crypto scam
Speakers include representatives from the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the California Department of Financial Protection & Innovation.
