Costa Mesa Household Waste & Shredding Event

Do you have bulky household items you need to throw away or important documents to shred? Bring your household waste, e-waste and documents to Estancia High School on Saturday, May 18, from 8-11 a.m. (or until intake capacity is reached).

Caltrans staff will be on-site to shred up to four boxes of your documents securely, as well as collect household items that are too bulky for residential garbage bins, such as mattresses, furniture, toys and e-waste.

You can dispose all of those items and shred important documents at no charge. All Orange County residents are welcome.

The following items will NOT be accepted at this event:

• Hazardous materials (batteries, paints, oils, chemicals, pesticides, smoke detectors, fluorescent lights, etc.)
• Concrete, dirt, rocks, brick, asphalt, or sand
• Treated wood
• Tires
• Hanging file folders, accordion folders, 3-ring binders, CDs, or x-rays
