Oils Spill Hearing

__SALUTATION__

I remain committed to providing you with the most up-to-date and accurate information about the Orange County Oil Spill.

As Chair of the California State Assembly’s Select Committee on the Orange County Oil Spill, I will be holding the first joint oversight hearing on Monday.

During this hearing, we will receive updates on the oil spill response and recovery efforts from a number of panelists and experts. The bottom line is that this was a preventable disaster. The goal of this hearing is threefold: get to the bottom of what happened, ensure that the responsible party is held fully accountable for the toll on our community, and identify the steps needed to ensure that an environmental disaster like this does not occur again on our watch.
