Every year the California Association of Nonprofits asks legislators to select one incredible organization to recognize at a ceremony in the Capitol. With the pandemic forcing us to move the awards online, it presented an opportunity for me to invite all of you to help us celebrate this year.

It is my honor to announce our 2020 Non-Profit of the Year: Families Forward in Irvine! For 36 years Families Forward has helped families get back on their feet after facing unexpected crisis. I am so grateful to the team at Families Forward for their commitment to serving our community, and I hope the good-news bell, the bell they ring when they help a family find housing, continues to ring for many decades to come. (Check out their upcoming ‘neighbors helping neighbors’ food collection event.

When we put out a call for nominations we were blown away by your response - more than 70 organizations making Orange County a better place. With so many nominations, we decided to honor one non-profit from each of the cities in our District.

At 4pm this afternoon you can participate LIVE, or we welcome you to watch the replay any time on YouTube. Representatives from these amazing organizations will share with us about the great work they are doing and how you can get involved.
