IRVINE – On Saturday, Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris (D—Irvine) and Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County hosted a Harvest Solutions Farm Volunteer Event in Irvine to help harvest seasonal produce so that Orange County residents have consistent access to nutritious food. Volunteers harvested over 7,000 pounds of bell peppers that will be distributed in food boxes by Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County to individual and families served by the food bank and local pantries.
SACRAMENTO – On Monday, Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris (D-Irvine) advanced Assembly Bill 1027, a measure that will strengthen California’s efforts to combat online illicit drug sales, to the Governor’s desk. AB 1027 will assist law enforcement in their investigations by requiring social media companies to retain data associated with the sale and distribution of illicit drugs on their platforms. The bill has received bipartisan support in both houses of the state legislature and will be sent to Governor Newsom for consideration.
TUSTIN – Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris (D-Irvine), Orange County United Way and local partners delivered over 400 school supply kits to W.R. Nelson Elementary School in Tustin. Teachers will distribute the items to nearly the entire student body at the beginning of the school year.
