AB 689 Will Modernize Hotline Services to Include Text and Chat

SACRAMENTO – Legislation to expand access to domestic violence services, authored by Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris, has been signed into law. AB 689 will allow for survivors of domestic violence to seek help via text and other computer-based technologies.

This Laguna Woods-based small business was founded in 2020 and provides dog/cat daycare and boarding services. RELEASE: 2021 Nonprofits of Distinction

IRVINE – Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris has named five Nonprofits of Distinction for 2021: Power of One Foundation (Costa Mesa), Wetlands and Wildlife Care Center (Huntington Beach), Miracles for Kids (Irvine), Age Well (Laguna Woods) and Project Self Sufficiency (Newport Beach).

Nonprofit of Distinction is an annual recognition ceremony held locally following California Nonprofits Day in June. Community members are invited to nominate nonprofit organizations that have shown extraordinary work, service and compassion in our communities.
