Irvine, CA – Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris held the 1st annual Turkey Giveaway at her Irvine District Office, distributing 250 turkeys and fresh produce to constituents in the 73rd Assembly District from Costa Mesa, Irvine and Tustin.

“The holidays can be a challenging time for many families, and our goal is to provide a bit of relief and joy to those who may be struggling,” said Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris (D-Irvine). “It was inspiring to see the community come together to support one another, and I am grateful to all the partners and volunteers who made this day possible. This event is just one way we can show our gratitude and give back to the community.”

Assemblywoman Petrie-Norris partnered with Sabil USA and Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County to organize the Turkey Giveaway event. These organizations are working to address food and nutritional insecurity in Orange County by helping families get access to nourishing food so no one goes hungry. Volunteers joining the Assemblywoman at the Turkey Giveaway included community members from the Automobile Club of Southern California, SoCalGas, Save Our Youth, Rotary Club of Tustin-Santa Ana and Girls Scouts of Orange County.

“It is truly remarkable to have government officials who are deeply connected to the community, understand the challenges people are facing, and take meaningful action to ease their hardships during these difficult times. To see them personally involved in distributing resources speaks volumes,” said Samar Aziz, CEO of Sabil USA “We are honored to partner with the Assemblywoman and extend our heartfelt thanks to Fam Vans for their crucial support in making this distribution a success."
