In advance of Giving Tuesday and as part of Charity Fraud Awareness Week, please join the California Attorney General's Office for a CARE Community Briefing on the newly updated Guide for Charities, which provides best practices for the nonprofit sector in California, including charities, fundraising professionals, and charitable fundraising platforms.
The Attorney General has the primary responsibility for supervising charities, and those who fundraise on their behalf. A representative of the Attorney General’s Registry of Charities and Fundraisers will provide an overview of the Guide for Charities and share helpful information about the Registry’s programs and tools, including the Registry Search Tool used by the public to research registered organizations. All are welcome to attend and are encouraged to share this with your networks who would benefit from this information.
