SACRAMENTO – Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris (D-Laguna Beach), Chair of the Assembly Accountability and Administrative Review Committee has released the following statement regarding the John Wayne Airport General Aviation Improvement Program (GAIP):
“The Orange County Board of Supervisors should not prioritize a handful of billionaires over thousands of Newport Beach and Costa Mesa residents. After studying the Environmental Impact Report (EIR), I believe the Board of Supervisors should consider the increased greenhouse emissions, noise effects and impacts on the health of our airport adjacent community, and adopt a plan more in line with JWA GAIP Alternative 3.”
