“The goal of this conference is to help students see that education leads to more options and to inspire them to leave the event with more information and resources for creating their own pathways to success.”
– Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris

In honor of Women’s HERstory month Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris, in partnership with Girls’s Inc. and Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties, will host the inaugural Assembly District 74 Young Women’s Empowerment Day Conference.

This is a fantastic, FREE opportunity to hear messages by professional women in their diverse careers. The discussions will focus on education, transition to college, careers, self-esteem, community engagement and personal growth, amongst others. In addition, a mini college fair will take place in the morning to give students a chance to interact with colleges.

On March 14, my office will be hosting a Young Women's Empowerment Conference at Orange Coast College. The purpose of the conference is to help the young women of the 74th Assembly district engage with community stakeholders, and learn various ways they can empower themselves in their further academic and professional pursuits. We are excited to announce that we have Kirsten Vangsness of 'Criminal Minds' as our keynote speaker.  Programming such as emotional wellness, college/career paths, social media awareness and women in government will be highlighted topics.
