Please join me, Supervisor Katrina Foley, OC Health Care Agency, City of Costa Mesa, and our partners for an important community forum on the opioid crisis.
Fentanyl is now the most the deadly drug circulating on the illegal drug market – just 2 milligrams or the equivalent of two grains of salt, is enough to kill. In 2021, 5,961 Californians died because of fentanyl poisoning. That is 17 lives lost every single day.
Community Forum Details
- A forum to raise awareness of the increase of opioid misuse and the rise of fentanyl overdose deaths.
- Information about how surging fentanyl deaths are preventable and how to access available resources will be shared.
- Ask questions to an expert panel.
- A brief training on how to administer Naloxone, a life-saving opioid overdose reversal drug, will be provided and each forum participant will receive a free box at the end of the forum.
