Our backyard is home to one of our state's great treasures: the California coast. Our beaches, coastal waters and habitats play an important role in our way of life. That is why I am thrilled to share the work I have been doing to ensure our marine life in California not only survives the looming threats of the climate crisis but thrives today and for generations to come.

Over the past several months, I have had the privilege of working with one of Orange County’s leading marine biologists, Nancy Caruso, on legislation to mitigate the effects of climate change along the coast. Nancy is the founder of the local nonprofit, Get Inspired, where she and hundreds of volunteers work on critical restoration efforts for marine habitats and species along the California coast.
