How to Help This Holiday Season

In the spirit of the holiday season, our office is partnering with the Power of One Foundation for a Toy Drive benefiting Orange County families. I hope you’ll join me in dropping off a new, unwrapped toy (or several!) at IKEA in Costa Mesa. Click here for a list of requested toys.

2021 has been a difficult year for many, but our toy drive will help make the holidays a little brighter for kids and families in our community by putting a toy in their hands and increasing their joy this season.
At our toy collection last weekend, I provided a legislative update about several exciting California State Budget votes I supported. We’ve launched the Universal School Meals Program, covering the costs of a free breakfast and lunch for all students. We approved phasing in Universal Transitional Kindergarten by the 2025-26 school year, when all four year olds will be eligible. And we’ve increases child care access by 120,000 slots in the Alternative Payment and General Child Care programs with a multiyear commitment to fund a total of 200,000 new slots by 2025.
