Free paper shredding and household waste event!

__SALUTATION__

Do you have bulky household items you need to throw away or important documents to shred? Bring your household waste and documents to Columbus Tustin Park on Saturday, July 8 from 8-11 a.m. Please be sure to come early as we anticipate a large turnout.

Caltrans staff will help collect household items that are too bulky for residential garbage bins, such as mattresses, furniture and toys. You can bring up to four boxes of your documents for on-site shredding. Goodwill will also be available to accept any gently used household items, as well as e-waste.

Event staff will unload boxes from the attendee’s vehicle and take them to the shredding machines. All documents received at the event will be shredded on-site and will not be left unattended at any time.

You can dispose all those items and shred important documents at no charge. All Orange County residents are welcome.

The following items will NOT be accepted at this event:

  • Hazardous materials (batteries, paints, oils, chemicals, pesticides, smoke detectors, fluorescent lights, etc.)
  • Concrete, dirt, rocks, brick, asphalt, or sand
  • Treated wood
  • Tires
  • Hanging file folders, accordion folders, 3-ring binders, CDs, or x-rays
