Drop off expired, unused prescription drugs

Dear Neighbor,

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day encourages the public to remove unneeded medications from their homes as a measure of preventing medication misuse and opioid addiction from ever starting.

On April 27, the Costa Mesa Police Department is participating in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day by providing a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs. You are encouraged to drop off – anonymously and free of charge – your expired, unused or unneeded prescription drugs to the Costa Mesa Police Department.

✅ Accepted: prescriptions, over the counter medicine, vitamins, supplements, pet medicine, and liquid medicine.

🚫 Not accepted: needles and sharps, inhalers, illicit drugs, chemotherapy medication, mercury thermometers, bulk pharmaceutical waste.
