__SALUTATION__

As we enter a new year, I take this opportunity to both express my gratitude for continuing to serve Orange County in the State Capitol and to reflect on the challenges and the achievements of this past year.

As I complete my third term in the California Legislature, I am hopeful for the many things we can accomplish together as a community. Growing our economy, supporting our small businesses, fighting climate change and keeping our communities safe continue to be my primary focus and top priorities in the Assembly for the year ahead.

I'm proud of what my team and I were able to accomplish in Sacramento. This year we passed legislation signed into law to better hold polluters accountable, protect access to abortion, expand access to contraception, strengthen the law to keep guns out of the hands of domestic violence abusers, and a new law requiring social media platforms to retain information on content they have flagged related to illicit drug sales. This last bill in particular will help our law enforcement partners as they work to bring those trafficking illegal drugs like fentanyl to justice. 

We are continuing to work on your behalf at the Capitol and here locally, and I am so proud of what we have been able to accomplish. We've helped hundreds of constituents secure assistance in times of need, and expedited requests through state agencies and departments. We have hosted over 30 district events that include household waste events, river channel cleanups, senior scam stopper seminars, car seat safety inspections, blood drives, free income tax preparation services, and ID theft and A.I. webinars. I hope to see you at one of our many upcoming events in 2024.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without my wonderful team, and the ongoing support of local organizations and community members like you. We look forward to continuing to develop our relationships and building new partnerships in 2024.
