As your Assemblywoman, it is an honor to serve in the Capitol. I am excited to share the results of my first session in the California Legislature.

It has been a busy first 9 months in office, and we just wrapped up the first year of a two-year legislative session. My staff and I have worked diligently to push our bill package through the Legislature.

My bills address key priorities, including:

• Protecting the California Coast from Sea Level Rise
• Women's Reproductive Healthcare
• Regulating the Substance Abuse Treatment Industry
• District-Focused Legislation
• Improving Government Efficiency

Five of my bills have been signed by the Governor:

• AB 65: Invests in green infrastructure projects to combat sea-level rise. Green infrastructure solutions - which include dunes, marshes, kelp and seagrass - are proven to be resilient and more cost-effective than traditional gray infrastructure. (VIDEO)
• AB 469: Improves state records management and ensures consistent standards for training and reporting across all agencies. (RELEASE)
• AB 558: Coordinates pro bono civil legal assistance to active duty members and their families. (RELEASE)
• AB 608: Increases the $10,000 low-value ordinance exemption threshold to $50,000 for all possessory interests to reduce the burden on taxpayers utilizing possessory interests and improve government efficiency to save money for small businesses. (RELEASE)
• AB 1011: Encourages coastal habitat restoration and public access projects by explicitly authorizing the Coastal Commission to waive permit fees for non-profit organizations. (RELEASE)

Seven of my bills are on the Governor's Desk and are awaiting his signature:

• AB 919: Establishes an enforcement program to stop body-brokering schemes that prey on vulnerable patients seeking legitimate substance abuse treatment. (RELEASE)
• AB 920: Requires outpatient substance abuse treatment programs to be licensed under the Department of Health Care Services.  By closing this regulation gap, this bill will protect both patients and our communities from unscrupulous operators. (VIDEO)
• AB 963: Empowers a new generation of California voters by appointing a Civic and Voter Empowerment Coordinator on our public college & university campuses. (VIDEO) 
• AB 1128: Streamlines licensing for PACE (Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) in order to facilitate program growth and increase access for eligible seniors - enabling our seniors stay in their homes and age in place while also saving money for taxpayers. (VIDEO)
• AB 1199: Ensures that, as part of the process in determining the future use for the Fairview Developmental Center property, there will be a structured process for community input. (VIDEO)
• AB 1264: Expands access to birth control by clarifying vague telehealth law and reducing medically unnecessary barriers to care. With this clarity in place, smartphone applications and telehealth services will provide access for tens of thousands of women in California. (RELEASE)
• AB 1752: Enables the South Coast Water District to access funding for the construction of the Doheny Ocean Desalination Facility to improve South Orange County's water resiliency.

I am proud of everything that we have been able to accomplish - it is an honor to serve in the 74^th Assembly District.
