Welcome to "Catching Up With Cottie" - a weekly update about what I am working on as your representative in the California State Assembly.
I'm proud to share that our office once again partnered with Orange County United Way and other incredible local organizations for the 3rd Annual Tustin School Supply Drive. This year, we distributed over 1,400 backpacks filled with essential supplies including notebooks and writing utensils to help elementary students in the Tustin Unified School District start the school year ready to succeed. A heartfelt thank you goes to our partners for their tireless dedication: Santa Ana Elks Lodge, Rotary Club of Tustin-Santa Ana, Tustin Community Foundation, and Share Ourselves. I'm grateful for your continued commitment to our students.
I hope everyone had a wonderful summer break! It's time to welcome the new school year and the fresh starts, new goals, and endless possibilities that come with it. Whether you're a student, parent, or educator I wish everyone a successful, inspiring, and joyful year ahead!

I had the pleasure of meeting with leaders from Groupe SEB in Irvine to learn more about their North American headquarters, operations, and priority state legislation. As the world's largest manufacturer of cookware, Groupe SEB is a global leader in the professional coffee market, with their well-known brands found in restaurants, coffee retailers, and countless locations worldwide. Their Southern California presence includes Wilbur Curtis, the nation's second-largest manufacturer of professional filter coffee machines, which proudly operates a production facility right here in our region.

The OC Workforce Solutions Mobile Unit is coming to Irvine. Its first stop will be at University Park Library Tuesday, September 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
OC Workforce Solutions offers a wide range of no-cost services to support job seekers and businesses. The Mobile Unit provides job seekers with personalized tools to explore career interests and grow their skills, including access to:

- Customized hiring events for employers
- Career guidance from workforce experts and more

Sept. 19- Second Harvest Distribution Center Volunteer Event
Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris and Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County invite you to a Hunger Action Month Volunteer Event at the Second Harvest Distribution Center. Join us this September for Hunger Action Month to help distribute and harvest seasonal produce so that our neighbors have consistent access to nutritious food, creating a foundation for community health and well-being. Volunteers assist in a variety of food processing projects, including sorting and inspecting produce, packaged foods and boxes at the Distribution Center in Irvine. This is an indoor opportunity.

You are invited to the 10th Annual Knowledge & Health Fair Expo on Thursday, September 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Costa Mesa Senior Center, located at 695 W 19th Street.
The Knowledge & Health Fair Expo is an annual event where seniors and their families can learn about valuable resources and services in the community from local community partners. Free health screenings and raffles.

Oct. 4 - Irvine Healthy Living Expo
