Welcome to "Catching Up With Cottie" - a weekly update about what I am working on as your representative in the California State Assembly.

I had the opportunity to tour Heirloom's direct air capture facility and see firsthand how California is leading the way in climate innovation. I'm proud to author AB 881, which establishes safety standards for carbon dioxide pipelines — helping us meet our climate targets safely, support high-quality jobs, and strengthen our green economy for the long term.
I am grateful for the opportunity to serve, and I am committed to addressing the issues that are important to you. As always, if there is anything that my team or I can do to assist you with a local or state issue, if you have questions or concerns about what I am working on, or anything in between, please contact my office. My team and I are here to help!
Yours faithfully,

Cottie Petrie-Norris
California State Assemblywoman

We had an important informational hearing in the Budget Subcommittee No. 4 on Climate Crisis, Resources, Energy, and Transportation to review proposals based on the Governor's May Revise. Grateful to meet with our Orange County and Costa Mesa firefighters to talk about legislative priorities, firefighting innovation, and how we can better support those on the front lines. Thank you for your bravery, service, and unwavering commitment to keeping our communities safe!
